St. Johnsbury Academy has hired Binaca Hanson of Bridgton, ME, as Assistant Headmaster for Academic and Student Life. Hanson currently serves as the Assistant Head of School at Bridgton Academy in Bridgton, ME. She will assume her new duties on July 1, 2022.

St. Johnsbury Academy's speaker at the school's 179th Commencement on Monday, June 6th, 2022, will be Cathy Judd-Stein, '78, President of the SJA Board of Trustees. She has been a trustee since 2018. Cathy Judd-Stein grew up in St. Johnsbury Center.

St. Johnsbury Academy is pleased to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2022. Madison Flanagan of Bryan, Texas, has been named valedictorian. This year’s salutatorian is Cecilia Sweeney of Piermont, New Hampshire.

To kick off the Spring Break week, the St. Johnsbury Academy varsity tennis teams partnered up to play a mixed doubles tournament on Monday, April 18th. Coaches Dan Bosco and John Sayarath hope the tournament will become an annual event — a way to mix up practices during spring break week.

Since our last update we have had more than our share of tragedy here at the Academy. Between March 25th and April 1st we lost two beloved community members, both unexpectedly–one a custodian and alum from the 90s, the other a recent graduate and daughter of two employees.

St. Johnsbury Academy has hired John Lenzini of St. Johnsbury to be Associate Headmaster. Currently serving as the school's Athletic Director, Lenzini will assume his new duties on July 1, 2022. A search for his replacement as Athletic Director is underway.
