Admission Philosophy
St. Johnsbury Academy honors a long-standing voucher system providing area students with educational choice allowing the Academy to enroll the majority of students from the St. Johnsbury area while maintaining its own independence. For more than a century and a half, this commitment has remained at the very heart of St. Johnsbury Academy’s educational philosophy. Day Student Application
Day student application packets should be complete by March 15 to be considered for fall acceptance. After March 15, we will consider applications as they arrive on an individual basis.
A representative from the Admissions Office visits the following sending schools in the fall of the school year and coordinates a visit to our campus in the spring: Barnet School, Concord School, Good Shepherd Catholic School, Monroe Consolidated School, The Riverside School, The Thaddeus Stevens School, St. Johnsbury School, Walden School, Waterford School.

If you attend another school or homeschool:
Please complete our Online Application. You may also send a paper application to Director of Admissions, 1000 Main Street, St. Johnsbury, Vermont 05819. Homeschool students, please refer to our Homeschool Policy.
Complete the accompanying forms within the online application. If using a paper application, complete the Permission To Release Records form including both applicant’s and parent’s signatures, and take it to your school counselor. We cannot act upon your application until we have received your complete school record.
The Official School Report form is also accessible through our online application. If using a paper application, please have your principal, school counselor or a teacher complete the Official School Report form. This form should be returned directly to the St. Johnsbury Academy Admissions Office.
