Fireside Literary Series Presents Author Julia Shipley

SJA’s Fireside Literary Series welcomes writer, journalist, and poet Julia Shipley on Thursday, October 4th at 3:30 p.m. in the Grace Stuart Orcutt Library in the Mayo Center. Julia will be reading from a variety of her works, including poetry, non-fiction, and from her recent book about agriculture and students, Fields of Learning. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Julia Shipley is an American nonfiction writer, journalist and poet based in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Her work has been featured in Yankee Magazine, Seven Days: Vermont’s Independent Weekly, Orion Magazine and Nieman Storyboard. She’s the author of a debut collection of poetry, The Academy of Hay, as well as a mostly prose book, Adam’s Mark, named a Best Book About New England by the Boston Globe in 2014. She’s currently a Visiting Writer at Vermont College’s MFA program in Writing and Publishing.
