Honor Code
St. Johnsbury Academy students quickly discover that they are learning and socializing in an incredibly diverse environment where respect, inquiry, and high expectations are core values extending throughout school life, both inside and outside the classroom. For students, respect extends not only to classmates, but also to faculty, staff, school property, our campus learning environment, and the community at-large.
We firmly believe that invaluable lessons in character development can also be learned outside the classroom through the social interaction of students with peers from a wide variety of cultures, backgrounds, and interests. The Academy offers the opportunity to participate in more than 60 clubs and activities, ranging from purely recreational to community service-oriented, as well as more than 30 interscholastic sports and an all-seasons intramural program.

We, the students of St. Johnsbury Academy, are part of a learning community dedicated to molding superior character and excellent academics. We have high expectations of ourselves and of our peers, and we depend upon our own honesty and integrity to uphold these expectations.
Therefore,
We believe that cheating, plagiarism, and any other action performed with malintent takes away from the fulfillment of our own true potential.
We respect our property, we well as the property of others.
We share the objective of building a trusting community that provides a safe, secure, and productive learning environment.
By signing below, I indicate that I understand the expectations and goals of the St. Johnsbury Academy community, and hereby agree to uphold them in their entirety in order to maintain personal and academic integrity.

Late Openings and Snow Days
St. Johnsbury Academy calls off school only in very unusual conditions. Occasionally, on mornings when the weather is bad, the Academy may open late. We use the eNotify Alert system to inform all parents and students of closings and late openings via either text and email. Closings and late openings will be posted to our social media platforms (Facebook, X, and Instagram) and broadcast on or before 6:30 a.m. on radio stations WSTJ (1340AM) St. Johnsbury, WGMT (97.7FM) Lyndonville, WCAX, and on the Academy website.
On days when many area schools have closed and driving may be unusually hazardous in rural areas, students and their parents are left with the decision of whether or not to attend, or whether or not to arrive late. On such days, absences excused by parents will be considered excused absences by the school. If it is unsafe to attempt to get to school from your home, you should wait until road conditions improve.

Information Technology
St. Johnsbury Academy leverages a variety of technologies and platforms to enhance learning. Our campus supports devices running Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS. Students can join our electronic device program, which provides Chromebooks for web-based curricula, though participation is optional and incurs additional fees. Alternatively, students may use personal devices for their schoolwork. Each student receives a school email account to facilitate communication with teachers, staff, administration, and peers. Throughout their education, students engage with multiple platforms, including the Microsoft Office suite and various web-based learning management systems and apps essential to the SJA experience.
