White Day

A reminder to Mrs. Morris’s A, B, and C Block classes: Please report directly to Fuller Basement today. Do not go to the classroom in Ranger.

Vermont’s lone representative in the House of Representatives, Becca Balint, will be having an open forum for high school students this Thursday afternoon at 3:30pm. Her focus will be on recent executive orders that have targeted public education and the rights of LGBTQIA, immigrant, BIPOC, and disability communities in the United States. All students are welcome to participate to join a conversation with Congresswoman Balint to share questions and experiences, and think together about how to feel hopeful and keep our communities safe during scary and uncertain times. Members of the Social Studies Department will be hosting this event in Mayo Lounge on Thursday afternoon. Should you prefer to ‘attend’ this event on your own, please ask your Social Studies teacher for the link.

The Math Club is hosting the UVM 68th Annual High School Prize Examination in Mathematics on the morning of March 11 from 8-10. The top eight scorers in the state will earn cash prizes up to $300! An email has been sent to you for more information about the contest and how to sign up.

Writers’ Block will meet for tea and writing today in Ranger 110 at 3:30. All are welcome. We’ll be working on our submissions for PoemTown 2025!

Animal trivia time! Which animal is the best at lip syncing? Come on, shout it out…! That’s right, a giraffe! This animal, which holds world records for the longest neck and tail of any land animal, holds neck-jousting duels with other giraffes, and can stand up to a hungry lion with its powerful hooves, has less to it than meets the eye. Giraffes have no vocal cords. You heard right, no vocal cords. They don’t need them! And neither do you if you want to come to the lip sync battle on March 13th! Giraffes and other animals without vocal cords are welcome.

Attention, Book Clubbers! If you have copies of “Slaughterhouse Five” please bring them to Mr. Demsky in Ranger 211 straightaway. Our next book is “The Vaster Wilds” by Lauren Groff. If you want to read for this next cycle, copies are available in the library now. Go get ’em now to get some reading in over the break!

Don’t forget to try out the challenges on the Bulletin Boards outside of Student Life. They will be up for another couple of weeks.

Did you know that this week is International Random Acts of Kindness Week? What better way to spread kindness than to meet new friends? Come to the Inner Circle Club today at 3:30 In Tinker Health Center. Questions, reach out to Ms. Cote!
