Hey Juniors! How’s the college search going? This week — today and tomorrow — Ms. Anson and Mrs. McCaffrey invite you to drop by our office during your free block with your laptop to set up your Common App account. Be sure to come at the start of your block to join your classmates in walking through the process and getting your first look at the Common Application. Once your account is set up, we’ll schedule a one-on-one meeting to talk about your next steps as you head into summer. We can’t wait to get started with you!

Join the Outing Club trip this weekend to Mt. Cube in the White Mountains for a 6.6 mile hike up to a beautiful summit with streams and wildflowers in the woods along the way. We’ll depart at 9 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. Bring some money for an ice cream stop on the way back. To join the trip, you’ll need sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes and a pack with water, a lunch, a raincoat, a non-cotton warm layer, and a warm hat. Sign up in Student Life or see Mr. Holden if you’d like to join!
On May 3rd, the JV Baseball team beat Spaulding, 23 -1. Grayson Hallett struck out 10 batters and allowed only 1 hit. At bat, Henry Semp, and Parker Thompson both hit doubles, and Kellan Kendall hit both a triple and a home run. Good work, JV Baseball!
On Friday in New York City, Andrew Thornton-Sherman raced to third place in a field of the top 800-meter runners in the country at the Trials of Miles sponsored by New Balance.
On Saturday, the Track & Field team traveled to South Burlington to compete at the Twilight Invitational. On the Girls side, Sydney Shoenbeck took the wins in the 100m hurdles and the high jump. The Girls team won all three of the relay races as well. 4 x 100m relay included Aven Thomas, Ailee Stratton, Maddie Ross, and Lola Ide. The 4 x 4 100m relay included Sydney Shoenbeck, Aven Thomas, Ailee Stratton, and Eihlis Murphy. The 4 x 800m relay included Willa Kantrowitz, Eihlis Murphy, Stella Van Der Linde, and Anya Moriarty. The girls team placed 2nd overall out of 23 teams. On the Boys side, Wilder Thomas took wins in the 100m dash and 110m hurdles, Daniel Carter won the 400m, and Emmett Johnson won the 1500m. The boys 4 x 4 and 4 x 800m relays also took first place. These teams included Emmett Johnson, Daniel Carter, Isaac Lenzini, James Hatch, and Andrew Thornton-Sherman. The boys team won the meet out of 21 teams.
Boys Ultimate beat South Burlington, 13-12, last night. South Burlington took the lead early on forcing SJA to work hard to come back from behind and then take a good lead. There was outstanding play from the entire team. South Burlington tied the game as time ran out, forcing a universe point for the game. That point was delivered with a layout catch in the end zone by Zach Poole.
