A reminder that starting today, all student drivers will need to leave campus via the South Main access road, rather than Brantview Drive. Students who park along the guardrails — it is very important that you park your car facing down the hill, as it will not be easy for you to turn around while others are leaving.
A representative from the US Marine Corps will be on campus from 10-11am on Monday, May 5th in the Guidance conference room. Please stop by if interested and check in with your teacher before attending.
Attention Seniors: This Thursday is “Next Step Dress Day” for seniors, which is a chance for you to celebrate you next steps after graduation. Check your email or Canvas announcements for guidelines.
Modern Dance students will be presenting their term projects this Saturday and Sunday, May 10th & 11th in the Morse Black Box. Saturday’s program is at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm. The Spring Dance Open House is open to all students, friends, families, and the general public. There is no charge. We hope to see you and welcome you to join us for SJA Dancers’ Spring Open House.
The Spanish Club is celebrating Cinco de Mayo this Wednesday, May 7! We will have food to make your own tacos! Spanish music, tacos, and fun!
Looking for a way to enjoy spring in the wilderness? Join the Outing Club trip this weekend to Mt. Cube in the White Mountains for a 6.6 mile hike up to a beautiful summit with streams and wildflowers in the woods along the way. We’ll depart at 9am and return by 4pm. Bring money for an ice cream stop on the way back. To join the trip, you’ll need sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes and a pack with water, a lunch, a raincoat, a non-cotton warm layer, and a warm hat. Congratulations to Jonah Raser, who earned the 7th best score on the UVM Math Contest. In addition, Donley Johnson earned the best score in our region outside of the top 10 scorers! Congratulations to both of them on this incredible achievement!
Varsity Baseball beat Rice, 5-0, on Thursday. Carson Finn went 2 for 3 with a double, and Connor Decker went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s. On Saturday, the team beat Spaulding, 18-2. Rex Hauser went 3 for 4 with a triple, home run, and a grand slam with 7 RBI’s. Carter Bunnell went 3 for 3 with 1 RBI.
Varsity Softball beat Spaulding, 15-1, with 14 hits in just 4 innings. Kyra Nelson, Makiah Bollman, Cassidy Kittridge, Miranda Caron, and Scarlet Cheripinsky all recorded two hits each. Sophie Vignec went 2 for 4 with 6 RBI’s, with her grand slam in the 4th inning topping the offense off. Cassidy Kittridge and Emerson Mitchell only allowed Spaulding 2 hits. The JV team also beat Spaulding, 17-3. Val Daigneault threw a no hitter, and Annabelle Jones hit a home run in the victory.
Boys Varsity Lacrosse moved to 6 and 2, with a big second half comeback win to beat Spaulding High School, 16-8. Noah Pekarski had 7 goals, Jacob Emerson had 4 goals, Derek Renaud had 3 goals, and James Hatch and Grady Davis each scored one goal.
Varsity Girls Lacrosse defeated Spaulding on Friday, 18-8, with 8 different players scoring for the team. Ella Blanchard and Rylie Johnston combined for 5 saves in goal. The JV team fought off a strong second half surge by Spaulding to secure a tie score. Kayden Kendall led the offense with two goals, with 4 other players contributing individual goals. Goalies Rylie Johnston and Ava Hovey recorded eight saves.
