Blood Drive sign-ups start today! Stop by the table in the dining hall during C block to schedule your appointment for the March 17 Blood Drive or see Mrs. McCaffrey in the Guidance Office. Thanks to the partnership between the American Red Cross and Fanatics, donors can score a $10 e-gift card when you come to give blood in March! Plus, you’ll automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the 2022 MLB® All-Star Game® in Los Angeles.

 

Attention International Students — Any student wanting to take the April 9 TOEFL must register by March 17th. Email Mrs. McCaffrey at mmccaffrey@stjlabs.com or stop by the Guidance Office to register. 

 

Final call to sign up for Driver’s education for the 2022-2023 school year. Signups close today! If you did not talk to your guidance counselor during your scheduling meeting, please make sure to reach out to them by the end of E block today if you are interested in signing up. After this deadline you will be automatically added to the waitlist regardless of your class standing and birthday. 

 

A US Coast Guard recruiter will be on campus today at 11am in Colby conference room. You can sign up for this visit on Naviance. Please check in with your B-Block teacher before attending. You will be required to return to class following the visit and attendance will be turned into the Main Office.

 

Academy Theatre will be holding open auditions for Mamma Mia! tomorrow at 4:00pm in the Blackbox. Sign-up starts at 3:30pm. Check the Academy Theatre Canvas page, stop by the Blackbox ,or email Mr. Walker for more information.

 

Students and Faculty! Don’t wait until the last second to purchase your March Madness bracket for the STJA bracket challenge — leave the buzzer-beaters to the college basketball teams! While some teams will be on the road to the final four, all you have to do is walk down the street to the dining hall. Sales will continue during all lunch blocks through Friday. Men’s and women’s competition brackets are for sale at $3 per bracket or $5 for two!  Take your best guess at whose dunking will win the tournament so that you might win Dunkin’ donuts for your advisory! Remember that you will also get to choose a charity of your choice that a portion of the proceeds will go to. Selection Sunday is approaching fast! Find us in the dining hall today through Friday!

 

Attention all athletes: If you are planning to play a spring sport, please complete the Google Survey sign-up form that was sent to your stjlabs email account on Thursday, March 3.  

 

Attention all boys planning to try out for baseball this spring: After signing up for baseball on the Google Sign-up, check your email for important instructions regarding paperwork and next week’s pitchers/catchers sessions. Monday, March 14th from 5-6:30 is the first workout slot.

 

Help knock out Alzheimer’s by competing in the Dodgeball Tournament this Friday at 1:00 PM in the Alumni Gym. The cost is $10 for a team of 6. Sign-ups are in Campus Life.

 

Starting this week, Chef B’s Culinary Arts classes will be selling baked goods in the Cafe on Wednesday and Thursday each week. Stop in see what your friends in Culinary Arts have made for you to treat yourself.

 

The Gender and Sexuality Union meets today after school in Colby 207. 

 

Ok, you think you have the climbing thing figured out from the trip to the indoor gym on Wednesday? Then come test your skills on a vertical sheet of ice! This may be the last opportunity we have this year to climb ice, so go sign up in Campus Life now! You must also see Mr. Weiss to get fitted for ice climbing boots as well!  Dare to explore!

This week Salsa Steps will meet after conference period, on Wednesday in Newell Hall 25. Please join us as we practice more salsa and bachata steps.  Come get a little exercise and have fun dancing!

 

Since we haven’t been able to get robotic body doubles working in the maker space yet, Codecraft Club will not meet today due to an advisor conflict. However, Dr. Desjardins would be happy to arrange an alternative time for anyone looking for help with 3d printing or any of our other Makerspace resources. Please also note that next week, Codecraft Club will meet on Tuesday, March 15th, instead of Wednesday. Feel free to stop by Streeter 222 or email Dr. Desjardins with questions or to find a time to work in the makerspace!

 

Round one of March Madness for Books is heading to OVERTIME! Two of the strongest contenders: The Fault in our Stars by John Green and They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera are locked in a tie! If you haven’t yet voted for your favorite, come to the library and VOTE! Or write library@stjlabs.com to receive the round-one ballot form. Ask your friends to vote and help break this tie! Vote by the end of the day on Thursday. Also, guess which of the 16 contender books will ultimately win March Madness. Winners will be entered into a drawing for a silly prize at the end of the fourth and final round. It’s Madness!
