White Day

All 9th grade Health Classes will meet upstairs in the South Church today for class.

Today is the big day: Greer Kennedy will be competing in the National Poetry Out Loud performances in Washington D.C.! She will be the first competitor for Region One, at 9:00 a.m. this morning. There will be a screen set up in the library if you’d like to watch and cheer her on! Go, Greer, go!

Students who want to travel abroad on an Academy trip but who cannot afford to pay for such a trip: here is your big opportunity. Next year, the Academy will again offer three scholarships for students who can demonstrate financial need. The three recipients of these generous scholarships can choose between the following programs: The business and culture trip to London and Paris; the art-based trip to Florence, Italy; the Spanish language trip to Ecuador; the service trip to Ghana; the trip to Nepal; and the exchange program in Freiburg, Germany. If you want to apply for one of these scholarships, please see or email Mr. Ehrean. He will have all the details you need for the application.

There will be a mandatory Ghana meeting in ST263 on Tuesday May 16th and Wednesday May 17th. You only need to attend one of the meetings. If you can’t make the meeting, please see Ms. Keach in ST263 to get additional information.

Team Culture Fest: We will meet this Wednesday at 7:15am and again on Thursday right after school in Ranger 210. Everyone should come ready to work on preparations for your Culture Fest booth. See Ms. Hibbert or Ms. Smith with questions.

Hilltopper Mountain Biking meets for our first club ride of the year on Wednesday. You will need to have completed paperwork in order to get on the bus. That paperwork is available from Mr. LaCroix in the Student Life Office. Also, we are excited to try out the fleet of 20 brand new mountain bikes recently obtained by St. Johnsbury Recreation. Email Mr. Bentley today if you need a loaner bike for Wednesday.

Q: Why was the dog stealing shingles? A: He wanted to become a woofer!  Don’t forget about the Animal Shelter Drive. Many of us have fur babies that we just love and adore so much! And just think of those fur babies that don’t have any family or home. Just by donating one toy or buying a bag of cat food can help to make the animals day at Riverside Rescue! Some of the most needed items are: Small dog bones, non-clumping cat litter, 13 gallon garbage bags, and dog food. The full list can be found on your class Canvas page. Donations can be dropped off at the Field House, the Library, Colby Hall, Fuller Hall, and South Church. Don’t forget that you have just a few more days to help be a superstar today!

Happy Birthday today to Franco Millington!
