Green Day

Students in Mrs. McGarvin’s C and E block human services classes should report to Brantview Drive today at the start of their class time (after 1st lunch for C block) for their field trip to Northeast Kingdom Community Action. Students who miss the bus must report to Student Life.

Please join us for the spring Fireside Literary Series talk in the library at 3:30, featuring SJA alum and writer Adrienne Raphel. Ms. Raphel will share her poetry, her snarky creative non-fiction, and anecdotes about her pathway towards becoming a writer. There will be cookies and cider for all, and Ms. Raphel will sign books that will be available for purchase.  See you there!

On April 18th during blocks B and C, they’ll be a Career Fair at the Ice Arena in Lyndonville. Many local businesses will be there, and it’ll be a good opportunity to check out career and internship possibilities. This is open to juniors, seniors and sophomores that have taken or are currently taking a CTE course. If interested, please stop by Mr. Carr’s office in Streeter 132 for a permission slip.

Student Diversity Council — we’ll see you tomorrow morning at 7:15am for our meeting! Check your email for more info. If you are interested in being part of Student Diversity Council, see Ms. Hibbert in Ranger or Ms. Smith in Newell.

Class of 2024! Do you have photos of you and your friends from this school year you want to see in the yearbook? As long as they are neat, clean, appropriate, and feature you and other Juniors we want them! With two additional pages for photos of our class in the yearbook, now is your chance to be featured. Pick out your favorites and send them to brooke.white@stjlabs.com by tomorrow!

Come celebrate Spring this Friday as the Sophomore class will host this year’s Disco Dance in the Dining Hall from 8:00-10:30. The cost will be $3 person/$5 for two people. If you would like to bring an outside guest, you will need to sign them up in the Student Life Office by tomorrow!

All juniors in the VSAC GEAR UP program with Ms. Turner are asked to please check in with her in the dining hall at lunch time today. You are encouraged to check your email, and to make other arrangements to connect with Ms. Turner if you are not able to check in today.

Attention International Students — Any student wanting to take the April 15th TOEFL — must register by Friday, March 24th. A link to register for the April TOEFL has been sent to your STJLabs email. See Mrs. McCaffrey in the Guidance Office with any questions.

Math Club will be meeting this Tuesday for our final round of the New England Math League. Severance 15 from 3:45-4:45. Be there or be squared!

Do you like trees? Do you like air? Do you like friendship? Do you like (safely) throwing ice axes at snow targets? If you would answer two or more of these questions with “indeed,” then you would love Outing Club! We will be meeting this week at 3:15 on Thursday in Ranger 215. You do not have to have come to an Outing Club event before in order to attend. Please see Mr. Demsky with any questions. See you Thursday; until then, be excellent to each other.

The Academy Historical Society will begin meeting on Tuesdays starting this week. Join us in the archives after CP!

Mr. Kinsella will be offering a factoring skills workshop this Wednesday in Severance 15 from 3:30 to 4:30. This could benefit any student from Algebra 1 to Precalculus. Stretch you mind or look to review a key concept that is used across many math classes.  See you in Severance 15 tomorrow at 3:30pm.

Girls Varsity Ultimate players — please meet in the Guidance Office for a quick meeting immediately after school.

The 2023 VT Coaches Girls Ice Hockey Coaches Association has chosen Brooke-Lynne Choiniere of the Kingdom Blades to the Division 2 All-Star First Team as a defenseman. Congratulations, Brooke-Lynne!
