Attention Current National Honor Society Members and Future Inductees: Our Mandatory Chapter Meeting is today at 3:15pm. Current members will begin meeting in Fuller Hall and Inductees should report to Fuller Basement. See Mrs. Reed in the Guidance Office with any questions or concerns!

 

Mrs. McGarvin’s D block Career Exploration class will meet at Chef Hale’s South Church Kitchen today and Thursday this week. Please report directly to the South Church at the start of D block for class on those days.

 

Calling all College Bound Hilltoppers! — The following college has a virtual visit today: New York Film Academy at 11am in Colby conference room. Be sure to sign up for the visit on Naviance and to view all details. If you are scheduled to be in class during the time of either visit, please check in with your teacher before coming to the college visit. You are also required to return to class after the completion of the visit, attendance is turned into the main office.

 

Tomorrow the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and Washington University will be visiting.

 

Congratulations to the following three students for their performances in the Rotary Speech Contest. Third place winner Greer Kennedy was awarded the $25 prize. Runner-up Clara Andre was awarded the $50 prize. Payton Molleur was awarded the top prize of $100. Payton will complete at the regional level on May 7. Congratulations to all, and good luck to Payton moving forward!

 

Academy Theatre will hold auditions for all those students called back for Mamma Mia! today from 3:30-5:30pm. Calling all techies! Academy Theatre will be holding a meeting today after school at 4:00pm in Morse Stagecraft for all those interested in working backstage for the spring production of Mamma Mia!

Attention juniors, the Social Studies Department is pleased to announce that the Boys and Girls State programs will run this summer. If you have an interest in politics, leadership, and public policy, this is a phenomenal opportunity. Four boys and four girls will be chosen to represent the Academy at this week-long conference over the summer. While learning about state and local government, delegates will run campaigns, serve in a mock government, and set policy for the great state of Vermont. The girls will meet in person at Vermont Technical College from June 18 through June 23. The boys will also meet in person from June 19th through June 24 at NVU-Lyndon. If you have any interest or questions, email Mr. Mantius at peter.mantius@stjlabs.com or stop by his classroom during Conference Period in Ranger 211 to pick up an application. All costs will be taken care of by sponsors and the Social Studies Department

A reminder and invitation to all that the Makerspace will be open for Codecraft Club and all kinds of making, building, crafting, and designing today from 3:45 to 5. This is a change from our usual Wednesday schedule. Please stop by to see how we can help your ideas take shape! The Makerspace is on the first floor of Streeter, behind the cafeteria and across from the woodshop.

 

Attention Hispanic students, Spanish Club will meet today at 3:30 in Profe Orozco’s classroom NH 21 to prepare for our Hispanic festival. Please be prompt.
