Green Day

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation. The need for blood is constant and current supplies are low. You can help the American Red Cross make sure that supply meets demand.  On Thursday, March 17th, St. Johnsbury Academy will be hosting a Blood Drive. Sign-ups will be in the cafeteria during C block, beginning tomorrow March 9th, and will run through next Wednesday, March 16th. Students 16 years of age may donate with parental consent. Students 17 years and older can donate without the consent form.  Stop by the table in the cafeteria or see Mrs. McCaffrey in the Guidance Office with any questions and to schedule your appointment. Give the gift of life. Donate Blood.

Attention International Students — Any student wanting to take the April 9th TOEFL must register by March 17th. Email Mrs. McCaffrey at mmccaffrey@stjlabs.com or stop by the Guidance Office to register.

Ever heard the phrases… Journey to the Tourney! Welcome to the Big Dance Baby! or Let the Madness Begin!… Well, it’s that time of year where you will hear these and many, many more crazy slogans all around the Madness of College Basketball in March. Come to the dining hall to join in the fun of Bracketology — no it is not a science class — it is even better! It is all about picking the winning team for the NCAA Men’s and Women’s College Basketball National Championship. Whether you fill out a bracket every year or this is your first time ever, it is always interesting and always fun to see who comes out on top in the end. Will it be a Cinderella year with upsets from underdogs or will the studs and stars prevail. Check out Bracketology 101 in the dining hall every day this week. Support the Class of 2024 by joining in the Madness and purchasing a bracket any day this week in the dining hall, $3.00 for one bracket $5.00 for two. The winning bracket wins a Dunkin Donuts party for their advisory and gets to pick a charity of their choice to donate a cash prize amount. We want to see Faculty, staff, and students alike all playing… Welcome to the Madness of March! See if you can survive to the end and be a part of the one shining moment!

In case you’ve forgotten, the Bowling Club meets today. The bus leaves Brantview Drive at 3:45 pm. See you there! Joke of the Week: Do you know why you should always be kind to your dentists? Answer: Because they have fillings too, you know.

Happy Birthday today to Ari Bernstein Saadia, Evan Daniell, Leila Jackson, and Lynn Li!
