Green Day / Twin Day

A reminder that tomorrow is Olympic Theme Day!

Junior and Sophomore Student Gov Reps — please meet Mr. Legge on the front steps of Fuller Hall immediately after Chapel for your yearbook photo.

Attention International Students — Any student wanting to take the March 12th TOEFL — must register by tomorrow, February 16. Stop by the Guidance Office to register with Mrs. McCaffrey.

There will be a Bake Sale on Thursday in front of the library starting at 3:15 brought to you by your friends in Culinary Arts. Most items will be $1.00 and all sales are cash only so bring a few dollars and get fueled up for the Winter Carnival events.

A representative from VERTO will be on campus tomorrow at 10am to meet with interested students from the class of 2023. Verto Education offers a full credit-bearing freshman semester or year abroad with direct transfer to one or more of our 70+ partner colleges, or the college of your choice. It’s a gap year without the “gap”, it’s more affordable than many university semesters, and the programs are specifically designed to fit into a student’s four-year plan to earn their bachelor’s degree. It’s a great way to get a hands-on education in some amazing places while figuring out what you want to do in college and beyond. If you are interested in attending this visit, please stop by Guidance to sign up and make sure you check in with your B-block teachers before you attend.

Congratulations to the February winners of Chef B’s Random Act of Kindness…for the seniors — The Buhner Advisory; for the Juniors — the Pont/Lemieux Advisory; for the Sophomores — the MacKenzie Advisory; and for the Freshmen — the Racenet Advisory! Chef B’s delicious treats will be delivered to your advisory locations tomorrow morning!

Of course, the Bowling Club meets today! If you’re not going to bowl, make sure you show your class spirit by participating in Winter Carnival events. Bus leaves Brantview Drive at 3:45 pm and returns at 5:00. See you there! Joke of the Week: Some people have a lot of trouble sleeping. Me? I can do it with my eyes closed.

Greetings Class of 2023!  Why did Kenny Rogers go to the hair salon? He just dropped in to see what condition his conditioner was in. Grab a friend and come drop by the Banner in Morse 202 and Dance in the Black Box today after school. And really, no need to worry about the condition of your conditioner. That stuff is way better these days. 2023 Rocks!

We walk a lonely road; The only one that we have never known; Don’t know where it goes; But it’s lame to me that I walk alone; I walk these empty halls; towards the banner of Broken Dreams; Where the studies sleep; I’m the only one, and I paint alone. Seniors- let me say this loud! Please join us for some creative fun at the banner today after school in Streeter 225 from 3:30-5:00 pm. Streeter Hall was the Boulevard of Broken Dreams yesterday, and we don’t want to travel down that road again!

Also, the dance party begins in Fuller Hall Basement today at 3:30. Come join us in the planning process.

Attention Class of 2025: to be clear: The Banner meets in Colby 206 after school today. Colby 206. Colby 206. Colby 206 is on the second floor of Colby Hall — Ms. Meranze’s room. It is a friendly place. It is a place that inspires creativity and fun. Yesterday a very small number of Freshmen showed up for the banner meeting. It was a number less than 1, but greater than -1. Ms. Meranze, Dr. Sayarath, and Mr. Dussault waited. At least they had each other’s company. Today they want your company! And creativity! But let’s not dwell on the past. Today is a new day! Colby 206. Colby 206. See you in Colby 206, after school, for the best banner meeting ever!

We promise it will be a great time had by all, bring a friend and lets’ have a Hip Hop Banner Party in Severance room 22!

On Saturday, the Academy’s Model UN club hosted a virtual conference with three other schools. This conference was organized, prepared for, and run with great effectiveness and imagination by Hannah MacDonald, Payton Molleur, Laura Ponaran, and Max Weber. A special shout-out goes to Olivia Blanchard, who was named the best first-time delegate, and to Greer Kennedy who was recognized for most faithfully representing a country’s point of view. Other Academy students who were very effective delegates were Eric Chen, Zhi Howes, and Ryan Norris. Thank you to all who ran the conference and who participated in it.
