Today is the last day to have Jenks Studio take your photo. If you are an underclassman, and have not had your photo taken, please be sure to stop by Fuller between 9:30am and noon. As a reminder — even if you do not plan to place an order with Jenks, we still need your photo for the yearbook.

 

Calling all College Bound Hilltoppers! The following colleges have visits today and will be in Colby Conf. Room: Bates College at 10am via Zoom; St. Lawrence University at 10:30am via Zoom; Suffolk University at 11 am via Zoom; The Landing School at 11:30 am via Zoom; Washington and Lee University at 1pm via Zoom; and Emerson College at 1:30 p.m. Be sure to sign up for their visits on Naviance and to view all details.  If you are scheduled to be in class during the time of the visit, please check in with your teacher before coming to the college visit.  You are also required to return to class after the completion of the visit, and attendance is turned into the main office.

 

Attention International Students – Any student wanting to take the October 23rd TOEFL – the registration deadline is this Thursday, October 7th. Email Mrs. McCaffrey at mmccaffrey@stjlabs.com to register and with any questions. 

 

The following college will have a virtual Zoom visit tomorrow: Rochester Institute of Technology.  Be sure to visit Naviance to sign up for all college visits.

 

Academy Theatre will be meeting in the Black box today after school from 3:30-5:00pm.  All those interested in performing in the upcoming Chapel performance of Mamma Mia should attend.

 

SCOPE will meet today at 3:30 in Mrs. Morris’s room. We’ll be working on several projects, including 
Reading Buddies,” where we will record books for elementary school children, organizing “Birthday Boxes” for local families in need, coordinating middle school mentoring, and pushing forward with some kindness campaigns on campus. Come see what SCOPE is all about. We meet in Ranger, Room 212 right after Conference Period at 3:30. Please see Mrs. Begin or Mrs. Morris with any questions. See you there!

 

Come join the Outing Club this coming Sunday, Oct. 10th as we go on our second to last rock-climbing trip of the year.  Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see the Northeast Kingdom in all its Fall glory.  No experience is necessary, and the trip is free to Academy students.  All you need to bring is a positive attitude and a willingness to try something new.  See Mr. Holden or Mr. Weiss for details and be sure to get your permission slips from Campus Life.

 

Attention mountain bikers!  We have a club ride today after school. Check your stjlabs email for more information.  

 

Come join the Salsa club as we practice salsa steps and learn Bachata today in Newell Hall 25.  Join us every Tuesday at 3:30!

 

The bowling club will meet today. We will depart from Brantview Drive right after the conference period.

 

Joke of the week: A beekeeper wanted to expand his hives, so he ordered a dozen bees. When the package arrived, he opened it and counted 13 bees. Do you know why there were 13? Answer: It was a freebie! 😊
