White Day

A reminder that school photos continue today from 8:30am until 3:15pm on the Fuller Hall stage, and that every student must have their photo taken for the yearbook. Please come to Fuller Hall during lunch, a free block, or after school today. There will be no photos tomorrow, but Mr. Legge will be back on Thursday and Friday in Fuller. Faculty and staff are welcome to stop by at any time.

Juniors and Seniors — Franklin and Marshall College, University of King’s College, Swarthmore College, New York Film Academy, and Tulane University are on campus today for a visit. Please see Naviance or Mrs. LaBounty for details and to register. Be sure to check in with your teacher before attending.

Local students who have taken Japanese classes at the Academy or elsewhere are invited to apply for the all-expenses-paid April 2025 trip to Japan. That’s right. This trip is free for local day students who have taken Japanese classes. If you are interested, there will be a meeting in the Colby Conference Room on Wednesday during Conference Period. If you cannot attend that meeting, please see Mr. Ehrean, Mrs. Laura Gary, Mrs. Davis, Mr. Eckhardt, or Mrs. Takanashi. They will be happy to give you the application paperwork and answer any questions you have.

There is still space available for the Southeast Asia trip! Please pick up and submit your application forms to Dr. Sayarath in the Science Department or Mrs. Laura Gary in the Morose Arts Center within the next three weeks. We need to finalize the number of participants and reserve the flights.

Climate change has impacted the US in many ways over the past several years. Here in Vermont just in the past two summers, our friends and neighbors have suffered devastating losses after floods hit our state. If you’d like to see what we can do at SJA to support people in their recovery from natural disasters, please come to a new club on campus called “Helping Nature’s Victims.” Starting today, we’ll meet every Tuesday in Ranger 212 at 3:30. We welcome everyone to come see what we’re about.

Improv Club’s schedule has changed! We will now meet after school in Fuller on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30-4:30. Same time, different day. This means there will be no Improv today, but there will be Improv tomorrow! If you have any compliments about this change to the schedule, please see Mr. Demsky. Book Club will have our first meeting of the year tomorrow from 5:30-7:00pm in the Library. Book clubbers, check your email for this week’s RSVP form. Still want to join book club? Come on by tomorrow night. All are welcome. Reach out to Mr. Demsky with any questions.
