Class Theme Day / Green Day

Today’s schedule is as follows:  A, B, D, C, and E block.  Winter Carnival Chapel will begin at 1:40pm in Fuller Hall.

A reminder that tomorrow is Class Color Day! The class colors are as follows: Seniors — Black, Juniors — Blue, Sophomores — White, and 9th Graders — Green.

Don’t forget — the Baking and Pastry class will have a Bake Sale after Winter Carnival Pep Chapel today on the library steps. Cash sales only. Don’t miss out on all the delicious goodies!

On Thursday, March 16th, St. Johnsbury Academy will be hosting its Spring Blood Drive. Sign-ups will be in the dining hall during C block beginning February 14th and will run through Friday, the 17th. Students 16 years of age may donate with parental consent. Students 17 years and older can donate without the consent form. Let’s fill all of the appointment slots before the February Break! Stop by the table in the dining hall next week or see Mrs. McCaffrey in the Guidance Office with any questions and to schedule your appointment.

A new dungeon has been discovered in a faraway land only accessible on Thursdays in the dining hall. That’s right, a new campaign is available at Dungeons and Dragons Club, but this time you won’t live to see the next session, and there are no long-term obligations. The dungeon will open next Thursday, February 16th. There will be five openings per week, so email Mr. O’Brien to reserve your spot or Simon Robertson for more information. There will be no dungeons and dragons/magic: The Gathering Club today!  Please go support your class and have fun!

The Thank You Note Writing Event debuts this afternoon. It is simple, the class that writes the most thank you notes will win. Mrs. Stark and Ms. Greenstone will have the cards for you to write. This is a win-win type of event because it is not only a competition, it allows you to express gratitude to friends, staff members, and teachers… Teachers like your A block teachers who have to read announcements, never are really sure when school is going to start, and who inspire you towards greatness each and every day.

If tonight’s volleyball and indoor soccer are not your thing, you should attend the screening of “Frankenstein” in the Mayo Lounge starting at 6:30. Earn participation points for your class by attending!

Due Horatio Magellan Crunch is the real name of Cap’N Crunch.  Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen was bumped out of the #1 slot on Billboard’s Top 40 Hits in 1975 by ABBA’s “Mama Mia.” These are the only two songs in Billboard history to include the words “Mama Mia.” Because the word “chuck” is used to describe vomit in Australia, that country changed the name of the party place Chuck E. Cheese to Charlie Cheese. Now that you know all of this, please show up to the Trivia Challenge tomorrow at 10:00am in Mayo Lounge.

And now a joke from Mr. Camelio — Winter Carnival Style: What is the official Academy Winter Carnival breakfast?… Frosted Flakes, because like Academy students, they’re GRRRRR-ATE!

Attention Sophomores: Meetings will continue today after Winter Carnival Chapel.  The banner will meet in Streeter 146, Mr. Bugbee’s room. The Dance-Off will launch in the Black Box. Bring your moves! Go Sophomores!

Attention Juniors! Dance practice will take place after the Pancake Eating contest in Fuller Basement starting at 3:45 today, and check out the Banner in Severance 22 at 3:45 for the finishing touches.  See you there!

Happy Birthday today to Aliah Hale, Hannah MacDonald, Haley Mattei, and Ashley Scherer!
