White Day

 

Tomorrow we will have a Variety Day!  The cost is at least $1.00. The proceeds go to purchasing school supplies for the Ghana Service Trip. Dress down and support this wonderful cause!

 

Student Government will meet today right after school in Fuller basement. Please see Mr. Ryan or Charleigh with any questions.

 

There will be a mandatory meeting right after school in the Alumni Gym for anyone planning on going ice climbing with the Outing Club this weekend.

 

Attention all writers and artists! Take note of the posters around school and grab a rip-strip! Your Clear River Review submissions of artwork and poetry, fiction, and non-fiction must be submitted no later than February 2. Please see your art teacher for help with photographing your work. We welcome photos of ceramics and fashion designs as well as two-dimensional art pieces. Please see Mrs. Mackenzie or Ms. Drew with any questions.

 

Breaking News: The Academy will soon have a school newspaper! As part of our first issue, we’d love to showcase student art. We’ll accept PDF submissions of visual art, as well as poetry and flash fiction. Email Ms. Pho at kerra.photiades@stjacademy.org or drop by Ranger 117 for questions and submissions.

JV Girls Basketball beat South Burlington, 48-4, on Tuesday night. The entire team showed great sportsmanship throughout the entire game.

 

Yesterday, the Nordic team hosted a 6 km skate race at Craftsbury Outdoor Center. “Elinor’s Hill” did not slow down first and second place finishers Tillie Lange or Anya Moriarty, and Stella van der Linde came in 5th. In the Varsity boys’ race, Graham Moriarty finished in 5th, and Sam Martin 10th. Marshall May won the JV boys’ race by 2 minutes! SJA had two girls on the podium in the JV race as well. Stella Cusack placed 1st and Ida Ricci placed 2nd, helping the Girls to win the race against eight other regional teams.

 

The Alpine Team raced yesterday against seven other schools. The Boys team took first place with Henry Semp in 2nd, Zane Faherty in 3rd, and Colton Evans in 4th place. The Girls team took second place with Piper Airoldi in 1st and Ace Irwin in 2nd place.
