The St. Johnsbury Academy 2024 Talent Show will take place on Friday April 5th in Fuller Hall at 6:30 PM. If you have an act that you would like to enter, please contact Anabelle Reisner or Mr. John Lovett via email. Please list the name of your act and briefly describe your talent. We are looking for a variety of acts. Sign-ups are due by March 22.

Despite a terrific defensive showing by the Varsity Girls Basketball team, the Toppers came up short in the Championship, losing to CVU 38-33. Closing out the year with an overall, season record, of 19-4 and runners up for the title. It was a phenomenal game last night with the team fighting on every possession, and the community of fans behind them all the way. The team would like to thank everyone who supported them all season long.
The Academy Girls Nordic team finished 3rd place at the Division 1 State Championships this week. They finished 2nd in the Classic race and 4th in the Classic Relay on Tuesday at Rikert Outdoor Center. At Friday’s freestyle race at Craftsbury, the girls finished 3rd overall and 3rd in the freestyle relay. At Craftsbury, the girls were led by freshman Tillie Lange’s best performance of the year. Lange finished in 2nd place (0.00.9 seconds out of first). Sophomore Anya Moriarty also had her best race of the year and finished in 10th place. At the February 27th classic race at Rikert, Tillie Lange finished 6th overall and Anya Moriarty finished in 13th. The boys’ Nordic team of Sisu Lange, Sam Martin, Levi Breton, and Nathaniel Bernier finished in 6th place overall, with a strong team performance on Friday that saw them jump from 8th to 6th. Junior Sisu Lange continued his strong session. He finished in 4th overall in the freestyle race and 7th in the classic race.
Over break, members of the indoor track teams competed at the Ocean Breeze Elite Invitational on Staten Island, NY. Andrew Thornton-Sherman won the 800m and led off the 2nd place Distance Medley Relay with Wilder Thomas, Carson Eames and Emmett Johnson. Andrew also placed 2nd in the 1000m at the New England Championships held in Boston. His time is a new Vermont State Record and currently the 5th fastest in the Nation. The 4×400 relay of Emmett, Wilder, Daniel Carter and Andrew broke the School Record in the 4×400. Gideon Pearson, Moses Andrews and Foster Rousseau helped set season’s best times in the 4×200 and 4×800 relays. Isaac Lenzini ran at New Englands. Brooke White, Willa Kantrowitz, Rylee Strohm, Zoey Cusac, Leilah Santiago, Seda Bolles, Lola Ide, Aven Thomas also set season’s best times in their events and relays. Carson, Andrew, Emmett, Wilder, Moses, Daniel compete tomorrow and Sunday at New Balance Nationals in Boston.
