White Day
Spirit Week is finally here! Be sure to check your email for a full schedule of this week’s events, including all room locations for float, hallways, and skits. Tomorrow is Twin Day, so get your matching outfits ready!
Mr. Bentley’s A block AP Lang class meets in the Library Media Room today.
The LaCroix advisory will be selling treats in the dining hall on Tuesday, October 20th during C Block. We will be selling pumpkin whoopie pies for $3/each. All proceeds will go directly to NEKCA in support of our walk for a healthy community. Please bring cash and enjoy a sweet treat!
On December 10th, you could be at Gillette Stadium with your 4 tickets in your prime seats cheering wildly while the New England Patriots beat the Minnesota Vikings! All you have to do is buy a raffle ticket from any senior (or see Ms. Smith) for just $30, then cross your fingers, and jump for joy when you win! Sales now through November 12th. Don’t miss your chance at gridiron glory!
Hey Seniors! It’s your friendly neighborhood spiderdean here reminding you that with great power comes great responsibility, so be sure to show up after school today and all week to help dominate Spirit Week like we do. For Hallway and Float, go to Morse 301 and Morse Stagecraft, and for skit, go to Mr. Ryan’s office in Res Life. Go Web & Go Seniors!
Attention, Juniors! Code Red across the campus! If we’re going to dominate Spirit Week, report directly to the following containment zones after school: Containment zone 1: the truck shop to work on the float. Containment zone 2: first floor of Ranger Hall to work on the hallway. Containment zone 3: R213 to work on the skit. Life finds a way, and Juniors find the win. Pick your mission, don’t get eaten, and let’s extinct the competition!
Attention Sophomores: It’s Monday—time to round up your friends and mosey on over to this afternoon’s Sophomore Spirit Week meetings: Skit will meet in (Texas) Ranger 117; Float and Hallway will meet in Streeter 141. See you out there on the range!
To SJA and beyond! 9th graders…we need YOU to help bring our Toy Story-themed Homecoming to life by joining us to decorate and transform our hallway and float into a world of adventure and write a script that really takes the cake! ROUNDUP your friends, bring your creativity, and let’s make this Homecoming absolutely out of this world!!! Today, tomorrow, and Wednesday the float and hallway meetings will be in Morse 201 and the skit will meet in Streeter 257. So long for now partners…and see you this afternoon!
Six-Seven, the Grimace Shake, and Clown Invasion Paranoia all used to be hot fads that fell out of popularity. Cardboard always remains relevant and cool…Especially when it gets burned at the Bonfire. A trailer will be parked starting tomorrow afternoon on Brantview Drive for you to bring your cardboard.
It has become increasingly more concerning how many people are not paying attention at the crosswalk, especially before and after school when phones are allowed. Please be sure to put your phone down and your head up as you approach the crosswalk and be sure to listen to our security team, who is working incredibly hard to keep everyone safe. Drivers are not always paying attention, so we need you to be! Phones down, heads up, and listen for the “hold up!”
Our theme of this school year is courage. You all have heard a variety of chapel talks so far this year about ways of being brave in the face of uncertainty. After hearing these stories, it’s normal to ask yourself if you have that kind of courage in you. Sometimes, stories of courage feel like hypotheticals. But we know that these stories of courage belong to you. Recently, the senior class trip chaperones witnessed true courage in our community. On October 4th, many of our seniors visited Six Flags New England for their class trip, a wonderful day filled with special memories. But on the way back on the bus, a student had a serious medical emergency. It was a scary situation, but in moments like these, we are all asked to step up. Thanks in part to the courage shown by some of the students on that bus, everything turned out okay. Every student on that bus did a fantastic job of staying calm, expressing concern, and helping in any way they could…And there is one student in particular who showed us exactly what courage looks like: senior Amuné Greyling. Amuné is part of our Licensed Nurse Assistant training program. She stepped up in a stressful situation, volunteering herself and her expertise to help her classmate in need. She kept calm in a moment where staying calm felt impossible. Her compassion, bravery, and composure were truly remarkable, and we know it will serve her well in her future. We are so proud of you, Amuné! Please join me in celebrating and thanking Amuné.
Happy Birthday today to Sammy Bent and Hope Horne!
