We are excited to announce the winner of the first annual Spring Break Duck Photo Challenge is Mr. Holden. Coming in a strong second place is Ms. Photiades. Please stop by Student Life to claim your prizes. Thank you to everyone who participated and voted — we loved seeing all the adventures the ducks went on over break.
Though the girls ultimate team took the loss on Saturday against a solid MMU team, there were standout moments. Sirui He and Laura Cuervo scored their first goals of the season, while Nurel Hajibeyli played outstanding defense with multiple blocks, and had some excellent long throws to anchor the offense.
Over the weekend, several competed at the Glenn D. Loucks Games in New York. Congratulations to Sydney Schoenbeck, who won three out of five pentathlon events. She is currently ranked US 4th for the season, and also furthered her school record.
Other members of the track team competed at the Iverson-Bobwhite Relays in St. Albans over the weekend. The performance of the day was the Freshmen Sprint Medley Relay, setting a new meet record with Jace Grayson, Landon D’Auria, Luke Raser, and Mariano Vera Gabilondo! The Academy also took first in nearly every distance and hurdle relay, as well as in the throwing and jumping competitions. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
