As promised, the fashion design classes will begin accepting modeling applications on Tuesday, (that’s tomorrow), and due to Winter Carnival, the application window will be extended into next week. So, if you’re ready to stomp the runway, scan the QR code outside Morse 201 to secure a timeslot. We can’t wait to work with you!
Calling all foodies! Whether you like to cook, bake, or eat, Student Diversity Council’s Cultural Potluck is the place for you! It’s not too late to sign up to bring a dish — just fill out the google form that was sent to your email last week. We can’t wait for you to come share your culture through cuisine and taste the history of others through traditional foods. The potluck starts at 10:45 on Friday and goes until noon. It will be held in Mayo Lounge. Come have a bite!
You thought you could win, but you lost. You questioned your ability and were filled with doubt. The moment you became sad, you decided that you were still the best. You worked, you persevered, and you dreamed of that shot at redemption. You are a winner and soon everybody will know it. That day is just four days away when you celebrate the 365-day anniversary of your loss with the sweetness of victory in the Rock, Paper, Scissors Competition. Dreams come true at Winter Carnival! Remember, you can’t spell “Winter” without a win!
With a phenomenal team performance, the Varsity Girls basketball team took down Burlington, 72-45, at home Friday night. Cassidy Kittredge led all scorers with 20 pts, Brianna Bunnell added 15 and Adrianna Hever with 12. The teams offensive performance and toughness was impressive but it was the tremendous team defense, energy from the bench and our home crowd that all helped lift the team to 12-0.
Although the Bowling team had a tough match on Saturday in Colchester, our Hilltopper Bowlers remained in 4th place in the league standings. In addition, Conor Simonds, Keagan Norrie, and Rory Nott all currently qualify for the State Individual finals in 27th, 28th, and 32nd place respectively.
The Alpine Boys were led by Colton Evans with a 2nd place finish at their race on Friday, followed by Zack Alamuddin 8th, Zane Faherty 9th, and Merrick Williams 13th. Girls were led by Macy Moore with a 7th place finish followed by Elizabeth Lopes 20th, Finn Burgess 24th, and Willoughby Heath 26th. On Sunday at Middlebury Snowbowl, Andrew Gorman and Colton Evans qualified to represent Team Vermont at the Eastern High School Championships. Henry Semp is the first alternate.
As a team, the Wrestling team placed 10th out of 22 teams. Jackson Ladd went 4-1 and earned 3rd Place for his division, and Connor Decker went 3-2 and earned 4th Place.
Happy Birthday today to Kalli Augsberger-Skala, Howell Hsu, and Riley O’Brien!
