White Day / Variety Day

Seniors! Happy Giving Day! Please be sure to give your donation to your advisor after Chapel or during Advisory if you haven’t already. Remember, if 80% of seniors donate $1.00 or more, our funds will be matched by an Alumni and go directly to our graduation weekend festivities, including prom. With your help, our class can reach this goal!

Students traveling on the Japan trip next week — reminder that you have a mandatory meeting today at 3:00pm — right after E block in Mr. Brown’s classroom, NH 12. See Mr. Brown or Ms. Smith with questions.

What do tigers and huskies have in common? Well, they are the mascots of the winning basketball teams, LSU and UCONN from this year’s SJA March Madness bracket competition! While not one single person predicted either of these overall champions in the Men’s or Women’s NCAA tournaments, two ladies emerged victorious by strategically picking the right upsets and Final Four teams. Congratulations to Mrs. Cobb from the Admissions office, who won the Men’s Bracket Challenge… and to Meredith Rogers, Class of 2025 who won the Women’s Bracket Challenge! Along with bragging rights, they have been awarded the opportunity to donate to a charity of their choice. Mrs. Cobb plans to grant her donation to a Flood soccer team — a local group that develops some of the most skilled soccer players in our area. Meredith has chosen to support the Olivia Hope Foundation — an organization that funds research to improve the therapies available to children with cancer. Meredith and Mrs. Cobb will also each receive Dunkin’ treats today to celebrate their victories. Thank you to all who participated in the NCAA basketball bracket challenge. We hope you all join us again next year for March Madness!

Ever dreamed of traveling to Asia? Do you enjoy hiking, unique architecture, and learning about different cultures? If you answered yes to any of these questions, come to the informational meeting for the Spring 2024 trip to Nepal in Tinker next Friday at 3:15 PM with Mr. Railla and Ms. Cote. If you are unable to make the meeting and would still like information about the trip, please reach out to either Mr. Railla or Ms. Cote! Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you there.

What do the Iliad, Dodger Stadium, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Taylor Swift have in common? They are all potential answers to trivia questions, of course! Join the Senior Class for a scholar’s bowl-style trivia competition in the library at 6pm on Wednesday, April 12th to show off your question-answering skills! Use the Google Form sent to your STJLabs email or check in with the Seniors at lunch to sign up, then bring your $10 team entrance fee plus a few extra dollars for snacks to the event. The victors will receive a gift card to a local business.

A reminder to advisories — the Forest/Holcombe advisory is asking for your help to collect gently used or new board games to donate to Umbrella for their family room. Please bring your gently used or new card games and board games to the cardboard box outside of Streeter 256. The advisory with the most donations will win a box of baked treats to enjoy. Donations close Thursday before April break, good luck SJA!

Calling all those who want to display their artwork for a good cause! A reminder that the Forest/Holcombe advisory is collecting artwork in Streeter 256 to display at Umbrella’s new location! See Ms. Holcombe if you are interested but have questions.
