Mrs. McGarvin’s D-block Career Exploration class will meet at Chef Hale’s South Church kitchen today.  Please report directly to the South Church at the start of D block for class today!

 

Seniors — don’t forget to check your email for the yearbook dedication and the Senior Bequeaths. Dedications are due by Thursday, March 17 and the bequeaths are due by Wednesday, March 23!

 

Congratulations to all those who auditioned for Mamma Mia! yesterday. The dance callback will be today from 12:30-2:00pm in the Blackbox. Watch the Academy Theatre canvas page for final callbacks on Monday afterschool.

 

Today is the last day for SJA March Madness basketball bracket sales. This Sunday, NCAA teams are selected, seeded, and announced. Tune in for a first glimpse and up-to-date info on your top picks to see how your favorite teams may fare. For those of you that have already bought your brackets, you will receive an email by next Monday with information on how to officially enter. Teams are about to hit the road to the Final Four, see us in the dining hall today for your chance to win!

 

Attention International Students — Any student wanting to take the April 9th TOEFL — must register by March 17. Email Mrs. McCaffrey at mmccaffrey@stjlabs.com or stop by the Guidance Office to register.

 

Calling all College Bound Hilltoppers! The following college has a virtual visit on Monday, March 14: Queen Mary University in London at 11 am in Fuller Basement. Be sure to sign up for their visits on Naviance and to view all details. If you are scheduled to be in class during the time of the visit, please check in with your teacher before coming.  You are also required to return to class after the completion of the visit and attendance will be turned into the Main Office.

 

There will be a softball meeting today for all interested in playing softball this season at 12:00pm in S230. Please see Mr. Roberts if you are interested in playing but are unable to attend.

 

For everyone that is going ice climbing this Sunday, a reminder that there is a mandatory meeting in Mr. Weiss’ room right after school today at 12:10!

 

Attention juniors, the Social Studies Department is pleased to announce that the Boys and Girls State programs will run this summer. If you have an interest in politics, leadership, and public policy, this is a phenomenal opportunity. Four boys and four girls will be chosen to represent the Academy at this week-long conference over the summer. While learning about state and local government, delegates will run campaigns, serve in a mock government, and set policy for the great state of Vermont. The girls will meet in person at Vermont Technical College from June 18 through June 23. The boys will also meet in person from June 19th through June 24th at NVU-Lyndon. If you have any interest or questions, email Mr. Mantius at peter.mantius@stjlabs.com or stop by his classroom during Conference Period in Ranger 211 to pick up an application. All costs will be taken care of by sponsors and the Social Studies Department.

 

On Monday, the Math Club will host the ASMA round 5 at 3:30 in Fuller Basement. All are welcome to join us for the penultimate ASMA contest. 

 

This is an open invitation to anyone in the community who would like to join our small band in rekindling our relationship with Kaijo Gakuen in Tokyo, Japan. Grab your lunch and come to Newell Hall 24 for a short meeting. If you are interested and cannot attend, contact Mr. Mesics as we will meet again next week.
