White Day / Gear Day

The following colleges will be on campus on Monday, September 13th: Worcester Polytechnic Institute, University of Denver, Washington College, Union College, Washington University in St. Louis, Bishop’s University, and University of Connecticut. To sign up for their visits, log into your Naviance account!

Attention National Honor Society Members! Our first full chapter meeting will be this Sunday 9/12/21 at 7:30pm via Zoom. Please visit our Canvas page for the Zoom Meeting link. We will be discussing expectations, committees, how to log your community service hours, and more. See Mrs. Reed in Guidance with any questions.

Join the Outing Club this Saturday and come rock climbing with us at the iconic Echo Crag in Franconia, NH. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome to come climb some cliffs with us. Sign up and get permission slips in Campus Life. Day students must also get a liability waiver signed. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The trip will leave from Brantview drive tomorrow morning at 9am!

Attention all students planning to attend tonight’s home football game under the lights: Please bring a student ID if you have been issued one. If you are a new student and haven’t received your student ID, know that we will have class rosters to check you in. Academy students attend home athletic events at no cost.

The Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, after conference period, to start work on our first project. Please meet in ST226 with clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We will walk over to the Tower House and begin digging perennials for use in future projects.

Ever think about what it would be like to be a US Senator or House member? A Supreme Court Justice? The Secretary of Defense? How about getting the chance to re-write the constitution? The previous rhetorical sentences no doubt left you with the irrepressible feeling that the answer is YES…AND that I am about to tell you that you can somehow do these things. Well, of course I am! So, if you are interested in US Government, our political system, our constitution, and our history, Harvard Model Congress is what you were looking for all along. Harvard Model Congress is a 4-day simulation of the entire US Government, and is held each year on the Harvard Campus in Cambridge, Mass. This year’s Conference takes place in February of 2022 and will be back on campus at Harvard. Not only will you get to act out your legislative dreams, but you will also be able to sit in on some classes at Harvard. For more information, and to get signed up for this exciting opportunity, see Mr. Weiss in Colby 209, and come to an informational meeting this Tuesday, September 14th after Conference Period.

Happy Birthday today to Bryce Pillsbury, Kirsten Alger, and Thaddeus Loder! Happy Birthday tomorrow to Wisteria Franklin and Zoe Buhner!
