Green Day

The wait is over! Winter Carnival Week starts on Monday! The dress themes for each day are as follows: Monday – Throwback to the Early 2000’s – wear what was in-style when you were born; Tuesday – Team Pride – wear your favorite team attire – whether it is pro teams, college teams, or SJA gear – show your team pride; Wednesday – Anything But a Backpack Day – you know the drill; Thursday – Class Theme Day; and Friday – Class Color Day! Class colors are as follows: Seniors – Black; Juniors – White; Sophomores – Blue; 9th Graders – Green.

Attention Seniors: please go directly to Fuller Hall for advisory for our all-class meeting to determine our Winter Carnival Sub-Theme! Please sit in your chapel seats!

Juniors, repot to the gym today during advisory for our totally tubular Winter Carnival class meeting! Bring your computer; we’ll be voting live for our 80s movie, so get ready to channel your inner Inigo Montoya, Luke Skywalker, Marty McFly, or Ferris Bueller! No need to form your own Breakfast Club; instead, please sit with your advisory. See you in the gym & go 2027!

Sophomores – please remember to report to the Black Box for Advisory today, and 9th graders should report to the South Church for advisory.

Sophomores and Juniors, today is the deadline to sign up for the March 3rd school day PSAT10/SAT. Please see Mrs. LaBounty in C101 with questions.

A reminder that 8:00 a.m. on Monday is the final deadline for submissions of artwork and writing to the Clear River Review! Don’t miss out on your chance to be published!

Do you think you have game? Lots of people think they have game and they earn participation points during Winter Carnival as a result. Next Friday at 8:30 a.m., the Board Game Event will take place in the dining hall. Bringing your favorite game will bring your class a Winter Carnival victory.

Are you proud of how many followers you have on social media? Make your class proud by leading your followers to Winter Carnival Events next Thursday and Friday! Remember: Participation and fun are the keys to Winter Carnival dominance and the key components of 80’s movie plotlines.

On Wednesday, the Nordic Team competed in a 5km classic race at Craftsbury Outdoor Center, hosted by BFA. We are proud to announce that in the Varsity Girls event, SJA had 3 finishers in the top five – Captain Anya Moriarty won the race, Kate Mackenzie had a strong 4th place finish, and Stella van der Linde placed 5th. In the Varsity Boys race, Graham Moriarty was on the podium in 3rd, followed by Linden van der Linde in 5th. Our JV team also had a great day. Marshall May won the 3km event and Griffin Knisley finished close behind in second. New skier Naozumi Kuramochi placed 4th! Ida Ricci was first for the JV Girls.

Boys Hockey picked up their first win of the season against Brattleboro, 5-4, on Wednesday. Goals were scored by Lucas Switser, Memphis Mastine, and Carson Biggie scored the short-handed game winning goal.

Gymnastics continued their dominant, undefeated streak on Wednesday night in a high-flying meet against CV and Harwood! The team posted a massive score of 140.35, the program’s highest mark since 2005, and SJA gymnasts swept the top 3 spots on vault, uneven bars, and floor. In the all-around, Lydia Ruggles took 1st, Hannah Wood took 2nd, Kinley Remick took 3rd, Peyton Thompson took 4th, and Malia Ignjatovic took 6th.
