Green Day

Capstone Day is right around the corner and will be a full day event this spring! Presentations will be spread across three sessions (two in the morning and one in the afternoon). Juniors and Seniors, please check your stjlabs email for a survey from the Capstone Department asking about where you would like to be assigned on Capstone Day. We know many of you are excited to attend particular sessions to help support your classmates, so you can indicate your top three venue choices for each session. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but please keep in mind there are space limitations for some of the venues. The survey must be completed by 3:00pm Monday, April 15th.

Come see Ms. Photiades and Mr. Demsky in Ranger 117 at 3:00 for a general interest meeting about the upcoming Alaska Trip. If you cannot attend but are interested in joining, email them!

Will you be 18 by November 5, 2024? Today during C block in the Dining Hall, the League of Women Voters will be here to sign students up who are 18 or will be by November 5 to vote in the November elections. Be sure to bring either your driver’s license or non-driver ID with you!

Seniors — are you a child or grandchild of a St. Johnsbury Weidmann employee or retiree? If so, be sure to stop by Ms. Carr’s office to find out more about the Founder’s Prize, which is a $600 award given by Weidmann Electrical each year. The application deadline is May 3, 2024, so don’t wait!

Ready to make a global impact? Drop off your used eclipse glasses at our collection boxes located at the Main Office in Colby, 2nd-floor Streeter entryway, Library circulation desk, and Field House. Your donation will help provide school-aged children in Latin America with glasses to view the October 2024 annular eclipse.

Happy Birthday today to Addisyn Greenwood, Alexander Mitchem, and Maegan Roy. A special Happy Birthday today to Lillyannah Altieri from her advisory and to Brett Wallingford from his D block class! Happy Birthday tomorrow to Paul LaTorraca, and on Sunday to Kelsey Greenwood and Kyle Johnson!

A special Happy Birthday tomorrow to Ms. Hanson and on Sunday to Ms. Callanan!

Please join the Social Studies Department in congratulating Lily Call, Rylie Johnson, Connor Decker, and Donley Johnson for being selected as our school’s representatives to the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership program this summer. Together with students from across the state they will attend a four-day Leadership Seminar at Vermont State University in Randolph. Throughout the HOBY seminar, these students will discover their leadership potential and refine their skills to enact positive change. A critical aspect of the experience is creating a supportive and self-reflective team-building environment. These students will leave empowered, energized, and part of a greater network of HOBY Alumni leaders throughout Vermont. Congratulations to them all!
