White Day

 

Exams start tomorrow with the English, Humanities, ESL exam at 9:00am and the History exams at 1:00pm. CTE will be showcasing their work all day on the first floor of Streeter. Please be sure to be at least 15 minutes early for your exam in case you need help finding your exam location. Dress code for all exam days is regular Variety Day attire. All of the same Variety Day rules apply, including no leggings or pajama pants. 

 

Wednesday, May 31st will be the last day of classes for underclassmen starting at 8:00am. Dress code for this day will be regular dress code attire. We will be following an abbreviated schedule, and there will be no morning Chapel, so please report directly to your A block classes by 7:55am. Seniors — instead of classes, your first marching practice will begin at 9:00am in the Field House. Last Chapel for the entire school will begin at 1:00pm.

 

Congratulations to next year’s Student Government President — Laura Ponoran! All those who ran for representative, please check your stjlabs account for an email from Mr. Ryan. 

 

Attention students taking AP Seminar next year: Our summer reading is Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. We have a limited number of books to lend out. If you’d like to borrow a copy, see Ms. Drew in Colby 205 today.  

 

Attention students enrolled in AP English Literature next year. Our summer read this summer is the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Overstory, by Richard Powers. Please stop by Mr. Jolliffe’s room (Ranger 117) to pick up your copy any time before the final exam day.

 

All students planning to take AP Calculus AB for the Fall, or those students who are taking a summer Precalculus course in hopes of moving into AP Calculus, please stop by Mr. Kinsella’s office in Severance 13 to pick up your summer work for AP Calculus. This work that will be expected of you during the first week of school next year. Even if you are not sure if you will be in the class just yet, stop by and grab a copy, just in case. 

 

Attention Seniors — If you haven’t yet, please be sure to complete the brief 4-question survey sent out by the Alumni Office on Friday afternoon.

 

10th and 11th graders that want to apply for a travel scholarship should contact Mr. Ehrean by emailing him or seeing him in Ranger 115 after school today.

 

Students who went on the Japan trip during April break, reminder that you have a required meeting today at 3:15 in Newell Hall 27. Shaggy and Camp Counselor will see you there! 

 

Today during C block after first lunch and during E block, the Advanced Creative Writing class students will be sharing excerpts from their original manuscripts of poetry, stories, fiction, and songs. Come join us at the Library Fireside to celebrate their work!  Refreshments will be provided.

 

The Theatre 3/Advanced and Theatre 1 classes will be presenting a Musical Theatre Showcase in the Blackbox at 4:00pm today. All are invited and admission is free of charge.

 

Reminder: Science competition information sessions are from 12-1pm and 3-4pm in Streeter 241 this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Attend one to discover a path to satisfying your knowledge passion. Contact Mr. Eckel with questions.

 

Do you have used sports equipment that you don’t need anymore? Good news because SJA Swap is collecting used, but not abused, sports equipment for those in need.  Items include cleats, rackets, protective gear and other equipment.
