The Hilltoppers traveled to Mad River Glen for a slalom race on the 22nd and had good results. The Boys team was 2nd out of 6, the Girls team was 4th out of 6, and the combined team scores put the Hilltoppers in 2nd place out of 6 teams. They then traveled to Cochran’s Ski Area for the final regular season race of the short season. The boys showed they are ready to defend their NVAC title by placing first of the nine boys teams. The boys skied well in the first run, but their second run sealed the team victory. In a very competitive field, Tommy Zschau won the race. Cody Van Dine continued his great season with a 2nd place finish. Wyatt Knaus and Forster Goodrich also placed in the top 10, finishing 6th and 8th respectively. The girls placed 4th in a field of 7 teams and were led by Keating Maurer’s 6th place finish, Maggie Anderson finished in 10th.

The Gymnastic team competed against Montpelier over the break. Juniors Lizzy Jones and Anna Cushing lead the team with Jones earning the top all-around score and Cushing grabbing the 4th place spot. Senior Isabel Bourgeois had an admirable performance for her senior recognition day. Being down an athlete on the uneven bars, Bourgeois was willing to compete an event that she generally does not compete and added a new, required skill to her floor routine.
