Beginning Potter’s Wheel Class

 

 

Wednesdays, 6:30pm – 8:30pm 

 

January 15th, January 22nd, January 29th, February 5th, February 12th & February 19th

 

Location: Pottery Studio in Morse Center on SJA Campus 

 

Tuition: $225

 

In this course, you will learn how to make functional pottery. Students will learn basic clay terms, techniques, and basic wheel throwing. Finally, students will begin to develop an understanding and use of clay qualities, decorative skills, and glazing. Clay pieces that will be covered are cups, bowls, plates, and pitchers. All products are food safe, dishwasher safe, and oven proof.

 

Instructor
Mike Chatterley graduated from Rhode Island College with a BFA in ceramics. He has been the owner and operator of the Pottery Wheel, an art studio in Rhode Island creating one-of-a-kind functional pottery for over two decades. He has been teaching pottery for over a decade, and currently teaches ceramics in the Fine Arts department at St. Johnsbury Academy. He is passionate about pottery and equally passionate about sharing the joy of pottery with others.
