St. Johnsbury Academy is committed to providing all its students with a safe and supportive school environment in which all members of the school community are treated with respect.
Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities. Below you will find links to the St. Johnsbury Academy Title IX policies, procedures, and training.
Non-Discrimination Statement
St. Johnsbury Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, national origin, ancestry, sex, physical or mental disability, immigration status, ethnicity, ethnic group identification, age, religion, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, medical condition, genetic information, homelessness or foster status, marital or parental status, or based on association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics in its programs and activities, in accordance with federal and state law. Discrimination based on protected class includes sexual harassment, sexual violence, and bullying.
How to File a Title IX/Nondiscrimination/Bullying Complaint
Anyone who believes they have experienced, witnessed, or received a report of discrimination because of their sex (including sexual harassment) in violation of Title IX may file a complaint with the Academy and/or the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Consistent with federal and state law, the Academy has established the following procedures for addressing Title IX complaints.
