White Day / Variety Day

All 9th grade health classes should report to the classroom today — not the South Church.

The Café will be closing at 3:00pm today and will be closing at 9:00am this Friday. Please plan accordingly.

National Honor Society will be running an e-waste collection event this Friday, May 6 from 1-4pm at the lower Field House parking lot just behind Morse Arts Center. We will be accepting old computers, computer hardware, monitors, printers, and televisions. E-waste is banned from Vermont landfills because it is toxic to the environment. Also, precious metals in electronics can be reclaimed and reused, so bring your old and unwanted electronics to the Field House this Friday, May 6 from 1-4. Contact Shelby Lizotte for more information.

The Academy Spring Concert will be this Wednesday at 7PM in the South Church Hall.  Band, Jazz Band, String Ensemble, Chorus, and Hilltones will all perform an eclectic mix of selections from Mozart to Broadway and beyond. Admission is free!

A reminder that the Lucy Terry Prince talk by Shanta Lee Gander and Jay Craven will take place at the Library Fireside today at 3:30. See you there!

The latest issue of The Clear River Review, the Academy’s journal for the arts and literature, has arrived! All are welcome to come celebrate with the newly published artists and writers at launch, which will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Library Fireside. Come check out the beautiful new book!  Copies will be available for sale for $15. See you there!

The Gender and Sexuality Union meets today after school in Colby 207.

Interested in job opportunities in Vermont? Check in with Mr. Carr via email at acarr@stjacdemy.org for more information on the virtual Vermont Job Fairs.

Attention Spanish club members, we will meet after school today to finalize the details of the Hispanic Festival. See you in Profe Orozco’s classroom.

Reminder: The Wellness Office will be hosting a gathering today, Wednesday, May 4, after school to create posters and flyers recognizing mental health awareness month, for all that are interested. Hope to see you then!

Science Olympiad cannot meet Wednesday or Thursday this week. Members are encouraged to attend the poetry and writing presentation in the Library Wednesday at 3:30 instead. Expand your ways of understanding and experiencing the natural world by immersing yourself in the experience of others!  Questions to Mr. Eckel.

The Maker Space will be open this afternoon from 3:30-5. Come by for a few minutes or the whole time, to learn about our tools or make something new! See Dr. Desjardins in Streeter 222 to schedule alternative times to access the Maker Space or with any questions.
