Attention all student athletes planning to play a winter sport: Don’t forget to submit the Winter Sports Sign-up Google Survey you received in your stjlabs email account. Mandatory Winter Meet the Coaches will be conducted via Zoom on Wednesday evening at 6 pm.  Zoom details will be sent tomorrow.

 

Congratulations to this month’s winners of Chef B’s Random Act of Kindness advisory treats! The winners are:  Seniors: Ms. Dedam’s advisory; Juniors: Ms. Brazeau’s advisory; Sophomores: Mrs. Urie/Ms. Minnehan’s advisory; and Freshmen: Mr. Stark’s advisory. Chef B will deliver the boxes to your advisories this week! 

 

Calling all College Bound Hilltoppers! The following college has a visit today: Vermont Technical College at 1pm in R115. Be sure to sign up for their visits on Naviance and to view all details. If you are scheduled to be in class during the time of the visit, please check in with your teacher before coming to the college visit. You are also required to return to class after the completion of the visit, attendance is turned into the main office.

 

The following colleges will have visits Tuesday, Nov. 16th — Castleton University.  Be sure to visit Naviance to sign up for all college visits.

 

Seniors — Do you have a Nov. 15th College Application Deadline? A reminder that today is November 15th!

 

College Bound Seniors — Don’t forget, today is the deadline for the Elks 2022 Most Valuable Student Scholarship!

 

The Farm and Garden club would love the help of the student body and faculty in collecting your unwanted mugs to use as planters. These individual planters will be donated for the holidays to community members and organizations such as senior centers. Please drop off your mugs in the donation bin in either Mrs. Dedam’s room, Streeter 226, or Mr. Jones’ room Streeter 237. These mugs can be all shapes and sizes, anything helps! Thank you and have a great day.

 

Today, Monday, November 15th, the Math Club will host the first contest of ASMA, American Scholastic Mathematics Association, in Fuller Basement at 3:30. See you today for the ASMA competition. 

 

Are you looking for something to do on Tuesday afternoons? Why don’t you come to the pool at 3:30 pm and join our Pool Games club? Bring a bathing suit, a towel, and desire to play! Questions: see Ms. Meranze in Colby 206 or Mr. Mesics in Newell Hall.

It is with great excitement to announce that volleyball has another athlete selected as a senior from the Academy to represent the All-Vermont volleyball team in the co-sponsored Northern New England Senior Showcase on Sunday, November 21st at Plymouth State University. Congratulations to Haley Chen who has been selected to play on November 21st.  Good luck to both Emily Ely and Haley Chen!

 

On Saturday, the State Champion boys XC team traveled to Thetford for the New England Championships. In a race won by number 2 Nationally ranked Gavin Sherry of Connecticut, Evan Thornton-Sherman placed 6th to lead all states after a Connecticut sweep. The boys team was 13th out of the 30 qualifying teams from 5 states; second in Vermont following team champion U-32. This equaled the boys best New England performance ever!  Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team!
