Thank you for your interest in St. Johnsbury Academy and our Good Neighbor program!
St. Johnsbury Academy is opening for student orientation on August 31 and classes begin September 8. We hope to make the most of this exceptional fall semester, especially for our boarding families. Whether you’ve thought about boarding school for a long time, or whether the idea is completely new to you, we’re here to help.
St. Johnsbury Academy has welcomed boarders from Vermont and neighboring states since our founding in 1842 – we are an award winning boarding school close to where you live. In recognition of this, we began our Good Neighbor program, a reduced tuition boarding program for students whose families live or own property in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Quebec, about 15 years ago. We have had some fantastic students join us because of this program, and we’d love to talk with you further to see if we might be a good fit for your family this fall.

What Our Good Neighbor Boarding Students Say
Noah Sorin ’20
Whether you are prepared for independent learning or you still need faculty support to really engage with a subject, St. Johnsbury Academy provides countless opportunities for all of their students to succeed and thrive.

Lyme, New Hampshire
I am from a nearby town in New Hampshire which is only about 45 minutes away from the Academy. This allows me to have the unique experience of being a boarding student though I still have the opportunity to go home on some weekends.
