Track & Field @ Essex Invitational

SJA Girls’ Notes:

Lizzy Jones won the pole vault and placed 3rd in shot put and 5th in Discus, Brooke White placed 3rd in the 400 and ran on the 2nd place 4xc400 relay with Desiree Mendez, Hazel Fay and Franny Cozzens, Brooke, Desiree, Franny and Rylee Strohm placed 4th in the 4×100 relay. Desiree also placed 5th in the 100 hurdles.


SJA Boys’ Notes:

Evan Thornton-Sherman set a meet record in winning the 3000m and ran the anchor leg on the Vermont State Record setting 4×800 relay with Andrew Thornton-Sherman, Hale Boyden and Nathaniel Bernier. The boys are the first Division one relay to break 8;00. This time qualifies them for the NB National Championships.
Andrew also won the 300 hurdles, The 4×400 relay of Gerardo Fernandez, Andrew, Alejandro Orozco-Kuri and Evan ran the Seasons’ best time to win the 4×400 relay as well.
The 4×100 relay of Jaden Thomson, Jaden Beardsley, Carburetors Rouseau and Andrew Bugbee placed 2nd in the 4×100 relay. Jaden Thomson also qualified for New Englands in the 100 and 200m, Andrew Bugbee also in the 200, Gerardo in the 400, Kai Liljequist in the 1500 and 3000m,
Carbur and Jaden Beardsley also had PRs in the Pole Vault and Shot Put to set them ufo scoring in the Vermont Set Championships next Saturday as the boys look to defend their team title.
